This sermon from Psalm 146 explores the theme of “Princes fall, but the King reigns forever.
Psalm 146 calls us to wholehearted, personal, and communal worship of the Lord, urging us to center our lives on praising Him—not fleeting human leaders—because He alone is faithful, eternal, and worthy.
True worship transforms us: it reorients our hearts away from self, renews our minds to think God’s thoughts, and anchors our identity in our union with Christ. The Psalm reminds us that while human power fades, the Lord remains forever, faithfully and graciously caring for His people.
“The Godward life is joyfully oriented toward God—shaped by His Word, empowered by His Spirit, and lived for His glory in every area of life.”
Unless our hearts are aligned with the grace and love of Jesus, they will pursue—and indulge—sinful desires. As John Owen warned, “The seed of every sin is in every heart.” That’s why surface-level solutions won’t work. We need heart-level transformation—only Christ can do that.
